George Bireline

1923–2002 · American

Bireline moved through Abstract Expressionism, colour-field painting, trompe l'oeil and figurative social commentary across a career that refused to settle into a single style. The restlessness was deliberate. Each phase was pursued with conviction, then abandoned when it stopped generating questions.
