Arnoldus Johannes Eymer was a Dutch painter and draughtsman active during the mid-nineteenth century. His work often focused on the wooded areas of the Netherlands, particularly the regions around Gelderland and the Veluwe. This watercolour study, titled Bosgezicht, demonstrates his technical proficiency in capturing the atmospheric qualities of a forest environment.

The composition centres on a large, mature tree with a textured, light-coloured trunk that anchors the foreground. Eymer uses a delicate application of watercolour washes to suggest the dappled light filtering through the canopy. The palette is restrained, relying on muted greens, ochres, and soft greys to define the foliage and the forest floor.
