Biography

Her international footprint grew steadily across the late twentieth century. She exhibited at the Autumn Salon in Paris in 1989[1], 1990, and 1993, and in 1994 was selected for a residency at the Griffis Art Center in New London, Connecticut. These transatlantic connections shaped her reputation as a Bulgarian[1] painter who engaged seriously with Western exhibition culture rather than remaining within the domestic circuit.

The honours accumulated across both French and Bulgarian[1] institutions. The Institut Culturel de Solenzara in Paris recognised her work, the French Academy of Fine Arts awarded her a silver medal, and she has been a corresponding member of the European Academy of Sciences, Art, and Literature in Paris since 1981[1]. The Union of Bulgarian Artists and Sofia's city government have also recognised her contributions. Three of her paintings are held in the collection of Newnham College, Cambridge.
