Cadell, and G.L. Hunter, is considered one of the leading figures of this movement. His work is characterised by bold colour, simplified forms, and a focus on light and composition. 'Yellow Tulips and Statuette' exemplifies Peploe's still-life paintings. The composition features a small white statuette, a bowl of oranges, and a book, all arranged on a dark surface.
