Description
Wreck of the Halsewell rests on a quiet shore, its weathered hull and tilted mast reflected in shallow water beneath the low green hills of the bay.
Rounded rocks fill the foreground where calm water catches the broken outline of the vessel. The old hull lies close to the sand, with a single mast leaning across the pale sky and rigging traced lightly above it. Across the inlet, soft green slopes meet the shore in long, quiet curves.
Wreck of the Halsewell carries the atmosphere of Dorset's sheltered bays, where tide and history meet at the water's edge. For anyone who knows this coast, the stranded ship and still inlet bring back the slow rhythm of looking along the shore as the light changes.
