Description
Otohime's formal reception brings Urashima Taro into the Dragon Palace, where layered figures, coral branches and watchful sea life create a measured undersea court.
The fisherman lowers himself before the seated Otohime. Attendants flank her with branches of coral, while fish move above the assembly and a turtle rests nearby. The welcome is composed and formal, yet this palace belongs to a realm outside the ordinary time of the shore.
Here the series shifts from travel to audience. Figures are arranged across a shallow stage of rock and sea life, with strong contours giving each presence its own weight. Muted mineral colour keeps the court measured rather than lavish, and the contemporary print treatment lets the pause before Urashima's uncertain return carry the scene.
