Boucher employs a light, pastel-heavy palette, typical of his mid-century output, to create a sense of soft, atmospheric intimacy.

The scene is constructed with careful attention to texture. The metallic sheen of the gold vessel, the soft feathers of the doves, and the lustrous quality of the pearls are rendered with precision.
