The lower section shows a group of children playing in an open space, their movements captured with a sense of spontaneity and joy. The figures are dressed in patterned kimono, rendered with clear outlines and flat areas of colour typical of the period.
Toyomasa, an artist associated with the Ukiyo-e school, focuses here on the daily life and seasonal customs of the Edo period. The print employs a limited palette, relying on soft earth tones, muted reds, and greens to define the figures and their environment. The architectural elements, such as the wooden veranda and the interior partition, provide a structured frame for the activity below.
