Ivan Vladimirov, a trained painter and illustrator, documented the chaotic reality of the Russian Civil War through a series of direct, observational works. This piece captures a moment of conflict between White Army forces and the rural population. Vladimirov utilised a combination of ink outlines and watercolour washes to record these events.
