Description
The Rough Bounds rise beyond dark Highland water, with a chain of folded mountain ridges and warm orange light reaching across the low slopes beneath a wide evening sky.
A pointed central summit stands against purple cloud bands, flanked by lower peaks on either side. Smooth shoulders descend towards a narrow shore. Across the foreground, long horizontal ripples carry broken gold reflections, leaving the deeper water violet and dark blue between them.
The retained photograph identifies The Rough Bounds of Knoydart, with rugged hills seen across a broad stretch of water. This outlook keeps the mountain group together rather than separating one summit from its neighbours. The changing light draws out their overlapping sides, while the quiet foreground leaves a wide space between the viewer and the rising ground.
