The Quiraing rises in jagged dark pinnacles beneath a sunlit escarpment, its steep folds and rose-coloured distance giving Skye's northern ridge a dramatic definition.

High above the path at The Quiraing, a sheer dark bluff drops beside clusters of sharp rock spires. Ochre grass covers the upper slopes, then gives way to shadowed gullies and long ridges running towards a hazy mauve horizon. Peach cloud bands cross the evening sky, leaving the highest crags in clear relief against the light.
