Sultan Muhammad, a master of the Tabriz workshop, depicts the legendary first king of Persia, Gayumars, enthroned upon a mountain peak. The composition radiates from this central figure, with his court gathered in a semi-circular arrangement below him.

The visual language employed here is characteristic of the high Safavid style. The figures are integrated into a rocky, vertical environment, where the crags and flora are rendered with extreme precision. The palette includes lapis lazuli, malachite, and gold leaf, applied with a level of control that allows for the depiction of minute details, such as the patterns on the garments and the individual leaves on the trees.
