The print is a benizuri-e, a type of early polychrome print that typically employs a limited palette of pink (beni) and green. The actor is shown in a standing pose, wearing a kimono decorated with a pine-needle pattern. The garment features a plaid outer layer, which adds a geometric contrast to the organic motifs of the under-robe.
