Description
Stang sets a white lighthouse above chalky cliffs, where a red lantern, offshore headland and deep blue sea give the coast a clean vertical focus.
The tall tapered tower stands on a low stone base beside simple white buildings, its railings and latticework visible around the lantern room. Grass slopes down towards ledges of grey rock, where pale foam breaks against the shore. A distant sweep of headland cuts across the horizon, beneath a large bank of cream cloud.
For visitors or residents of Stang, the scene makes a familiar coastal marker feel inseparable from the route along the high ground. The tower holds the eye above the shore, while the sea and receding landform give the view the clear reach of an exposed headland.
