St. Columba's landing point looks over a pale Iona bay, where a carved Celtic cross and low stone ruins turn the shoreline into a quietly resonant island scene.
A tall interlaced cross rises from the rocky foreground, its patterned surface set against turquoise water and a sweep of white sand. Low ruined walls lie near the shore, while green headlands and small islands fade across the bay. The clear sky and open water give the ancient stonework room to stand without making the scene solemn.
For visitors to Iona, St. Columba's landing point connects a beach walk with the island's early Christian story and the ferries that bring people across the Sound. Residents and returning travellers may recognise the particular calm of the bay, where history sits directly beside sea and grass.
