Koloman Moser (1868-1918) was an Austrian artist who exerted considerable influence on graphic art of the Vienna Secession movement. He designed furniture, jewellery, stained glass, ceramics, textiles, graphics, and books. Moser was one of the foremost artists of the Viennese Secession and co-founded the Wiener Werkstätte (Vienna Workshops). These workshops brought together artists and craftsmen to produce high-quality, handcrafted goods, rejecting industrial mass production. 'Spring Morning' is plate 47 from 'Gerlach's Allegories', a portfolio of prints published in Vienna. The print displays a series of allegorical figures and decorative elements typical of Art Nouveau. The composition is divided into distinct sections, each containing figures in various poses, surrounded by stylised floral and geometric motifs. The colour palette is dominated by muted greens, oranges, and blacks, creating a harmonious and decorative effect.
