Description
Spinnaker Tower, Portsmouth rises cleanly above turquoise water and a curved sandy edge, its white lattice and blue base giving the harbour a crisp, sunlit focal point.
The slender mast reaches through a wide blue sky, framed by cream clouds that sit low over the water. Repeating white ribs curve around the tower's glazed centre, while blocky waterfront buildings line the far side of the harbour. Angular sea defences occupy the near shore and small channel markers stand in the pale water.
Spinnaker Tower, Portsmouth is often recognised from the water as much as from the city streets. This view keeps the promenade, harbour edge and open channel together, making the tower's tall profile feel connected to the movement and salt air of the waterfront.
