Description
A winding path leads across Slieve Martin towards a prominent hilltop boulder, with purple heather and evergreen slopes creating a welcoming mountain view beneath an open sky of soft clouds.
Small stones flank the bend where the track climbs onto the grassy rise. Scattered young trees dot the near hollow, giving way to dense wooded valleys beyond. A pale route zigzags over the opposite hill, and a sliver of distant water appears to the right.
Slieve Martin brings together the varied ground of the Kilbroney landscape, from exposed rock to sheltered woodland. This view will suit someone who enjoys the approach to Cloughmore Stone, offering the pleasure of following a clear route through a landscape that opens out steadily with height.
