Description
The snow-striped summit of Sgorr Ruadh commands this Highland scene, its dark ridges rising above blue water and a sweep of green ground beneath a wide, clouded sky.
A steep, broken mountain face occupies the centre, marked by narrow snowfields and dark rock. Below it, green slopes descend to several bands of blue water and low shorelines, while pale peaks appear further back beneath a wide sky. Bare rocks at the front edge place the viewer above the lochside, and thin cloud bands soften the blue overhead.
Sgorr Ruadh is a striking point of reference in this Highland view. The layered water and ridges give a sense of the distance between mountain and shore, while snow remains visible in the summit gullies. The changing heights lead the eye from the foreground rocks to the high central peak.
