Description
Saligo is presented with a grand stone church above clustered houses, its towers and arched bridge reflected in a still river beneath broad blue clouds.
The Saligo composition rises from a river crossing to a large stone church, whose towers and high windows hold the centre of the view. Houses gather below the churchyard slope, while the bridge's repeated arches make a strong dark pattern across the water. Clear blue sky, cream cloud and leafy trees lend the scene a bright, settled atmosphere.
A visitor may take in Saligo as a place where the river route leads directly towards its built form. Residents can find a familiar meeting of bridge, rooftops and church towers, with the water providing a changing record of light through the day.
