Description
The River Mersey catches the Liverpool skyline in quiet reflections, bringing its waterfront towers and pale museum façade into one measured view from the broad waterside promenade.
Two clock-topped towers rise above the waterfront buildings, their warm stone echoed in broken bands across the water. A low white angular structure projects over the quayside, while a domed roof and square tower punctuate the buildings to its right.
For a visitor arriving at the River Mersey, this is the recognisable meeting of river and city that makes the Liverpool waterfront memorable. Residents will know how changing cloud and tide alter the reflections at different hours of the day, yet the towers and long quay retain the same clear presence from the opposite bank.
