Description
Rainham's reed-fringed shore opens onto broad tidal water, where a metal figure stands in the shallows beneath the warm light of a clouded evening sky.
The tide leaves wide bands of sand and mud exposed between the water and the distant bank. At the left, marsh grasses meet a dark line of rocks. Across the estuary, low buildings and taller blocks sit behind a strip of trees, while the metal figure rises from the shallows to the right.
Rainham meets the water at a quiet, open edge, with marsh plants in the foreground and the city beyond the opposite bank. The figure gives the broad estuary a close point of scale. At low tide, wet sand catches the evening colour beneath the reeds and dark shoreline rocks.
