Description
R Lochay follows a clear Highland reach towards blue mountains, with a small bridge, pine trees and bright clouds mirrored among stones at the water's edge.
A tall pine anchors the foreground at R Lochay, opening onto a clear river reach, a modest bridge and distant blue mountain slopes. Dark conifers mass along the far bank, while pale boulders punctuate the shallows close to the viewer. The water gathers blue sky and broken cloud into long reflections that lead the eye towards the valley.
Visitors can read the route through the scene as a riverside pause between journeys across the Highlands. For those who know R Lochay, the bridge, trees and changing level of the water speak to a local place shaped by weather and passing seasons.
