Description
Parliament Square brings Edinburgh Castle, the Gothic crown of the Hub and a formal colonnaded frontage into a composed Old Town view in daylight.
At street level, broad paving and black iron railings make a measured foreground for the pale portico, while a tall lantern cuts a fine line against the trees. Behind it, a dark needle of Gothic stone rises beside a rugged ridge of battlements, giving Parliament Square an unusually layered architectural horizon.
