Victor Vasarely, a central figure in the development of Op Art, created OND-DVA as a study in optical perception and geometric manipulation. The work consists of a grid of squares and rectangles that undergo systematic distortion. By varying the size and proportion of these shapes, Vasarely creates the illusion of a three-dimensional, convex form emerging from a flat surface. This technique relies on the viewer's eye to interpret the shifting geometry as a physical volume.

The colour palette is deliberately saturated, utilising a range of primary and secondary hues. These colours are arranged to reinforce the sense of depth, with lighter tones appearing to advance and darker tones receding.
