Description
Crumbling clay cliffs and a broad sandy shore stretch along the Holderness coast at Monkwith, with grassy edges and a far farmhouse under big skies.
Slumped brown banks drop in steps from a turf lip, and fence posts lean along the path above. Ribbons of shallow water cross the wet sand below, and pale waves roll toward a low horizon. A single yellow flower stands in the long grass at right, with a lone grey house and field beyond.
The Holderness shoreline is known for fast erosion, and Monkwith shows that slow change at its edge. It will speak to coast walkers, geology fans and anyone with family roots in the East Riding. The earthy browns against cool blue and green suit a hall, landing or study well.
