Description
The high cave mouth cuts into a pale cliff above blue water in this Massacre and Cathedral Caves of Eigg view, lending the rocky coast a still, sheltered feel.
A tall, weathered rock face fills the right side, its ledges broken by patches of grass and low shrubs. Near the base, a dark opening marks the cave entrance, while a second cleft appears farther along the cliff.
Calm water occupies the left foreground and carries a soft reflection of the stone. The contrast between the shadowed hollows and sunlit rock gives the coast its distinctive form. On Eigg, the caves are part of a shoreline shaped by volcanic rock and the sea; the steep approach and enclosed water make this a place visitors remember from the island’s edge. The scene belongs to Massacre and Cathedral Caves of Eigg.
