Description
Mark a connection to ancient Welsh places with Maen Llia, a striking solitary presence whose open moorland setting makes a quietly powerful focal point for a thoughtful room.
The upright slab stands just right of centre, with a pointed crown and broad, uneven face. Green moss and pale lichen break its brown surface, while dry grasses gather at the base. Long folds of pasture and moorland recede behind it, crossed by dark valley shadows beneath a large bank of white cloud.
Maen Llia feels rooted in the surrounding ground, with the distant hills allowing its distinct outline to stand clear. Someone drawn to standing stones can appreciate the simple relationship between weathered rock and exposed country, without losing the small surface details that make the near view engaging.
