Description
Lydden Spout is set above clear blue water, where a vast chalk arch and a slim sea stack bring drama to the sunlit Kent coast.
A grass-topped cliff drops to dark, rock-strewn shallows, while white surf gathers around the base of the arch. Beyond it, a bright curving beach and successive headlands carry the coast towards the horizon. Broad cloud shapes leave generous bands of pale blue sky above the water.
For people walking this stretch of Kent, Lydden Spout keeps the cliff path and the sea in the same frame. The arch makes the shoreline feel monumental, while the distant bay suggests the longer coastal route continuing beyond the immediate cove and headland farther offshore.
