He was deeply influenced by the work of Cézanne, Picasso, and the Bauhaus, but he filtered these influences through his own cultural lens.
Despite his untimely death in 1938 at the age of 43, Mikuláš Galanda left an indelible mark on Slovak art. His commitment to finding a distinctly Slovak voice within the broader European Modernist movement continues to inspire artists today.
