Description
Llyn Glaslyn lies beneath sharp mountain peaks, its blue water held between slate-grey crags, green slopes and a rugged foreground rocky stone outcrop nearby.
A dark jagged rock spire rises from the left foreground, leading towards the still blue lake below. On the opposite shore, pale slabs and grassy shelves climb towards a steep pyramidal summit, with another broad cliff face set behind it. Small patches of heather soften the lower slopes, while reflections deepen the water near the shore. Llyn Glaslyn is framed as a high mountain basin with strong changes in scale.
People who have climbed in Eryri may recognise the moment when the lake appears beneath the surrounding ridges, quiet against the harder rock above. Llyn Glaslyn keeps that mountain perspective close, from the foreground crag to the water and the pointed summit beyond.
