The style is defined by bold, sweeping brushstrokes, minimal backgrounds, and a focus on human figures, often blending religious iconography with contemporary social commentary.

In this depiction, Krishna is shown in his characteristic blue skin tone, seated on the ground while attending to Radha. The composition is flat, prioritising the expressive gestures of the figures over realistic spatial depth. The artist uses a limited palette, relying on strong outlines and flat areas of colour to define the forms. The figures are rendered with a sense of fluid movement, typical of the Kalighat school, where the economy of line was used to convey emotion and narrative clarity. Kalighat paintings were often created on inexpensive paper, reflecting their status as accessible art for the general public.
