Description
John Muir Country Park offers the quiet intrigue of an East Lothian evening, suited to anyone who enjoys tidal places where even a familiar crossing changes with the water.
A narrow arched footbridge rests on two stone supports among wet sandbanks. Its dark rails and steps are reflected in the shallow channel beneath it. Golden grasses fill the near bank, while a large offshore rock sits below the low sun and peach clouds.
The isolated crossing gives John Muir Country Park a distinctive point of attention within the broad shore. Curves of water and exposed sand make its approach feel different from a bridge on dry ground.
