Description
Inveraray sits white and compact on a curve of the loch, seen from high above, with a pier, a church tower and dark forest behind.
A stone arch bridge crosses a canal in the lower left, and rhododendron-purple bushes dot the lawns below. A boat rests by the end of a long pier, and a lone square tower stands among the terraces and stone-grey roofs. Three long hills close the far side of the water, and a curved road follows the shore past the lawns.
The view looks down over Inveraray from Dun na Cuaiche, the wooded hill above the town, across Loch Fyne to the far hills. It suits those who like a town seen whole from above. The pale whites and layered greens suit a hall, a dining room or a holiday cottage.
