Description
The steep green valley gives Horndean a sheltered, pastoral mood, with hedged fields folding towards a narrow stream below, Its soft light and measured view give the place a quietly memorable character.
Wooded slopes frame the view on both sides, opening towards a patchwork of fields in the middle distance. A pale stream or track traces the valley floor, while small buildings sit among the trees. The hills rise in soft layers beneath a blue sky crossed by white cloud.
For people familiar with Horndean, the enclosed valley and small scattered buildings suggest a place shaped by its surrounding hills. The pale line at the bottom draws the eye through the folds of green ground. The familiar details make this view easy to place for anyone who has spent time in the area.
