Bolswert, a master of the burin, worked closely with Peter Paul Rubens to translate the painterly qualities of the Flemish Baroque into the medium of print. His technical skill is evident in the varied line weights used to define the soft texture of the lamb's fleece, the heavy folds of the drapery, and the subtle modelling of the figures.
