Description
Holme is anchored by thatched cottage beyond a broad tree, giving the view a quiet rural character, with open space around the scene, across open ground.
A mature tree spreads across the centre of the picture. Behind it stands a small pale cottage with a dark thatched roof, while a low boundary separates the building from the level green meadow. Soft clouds cross the blue sky, and distant trees mark the far edge of the field.
The view places Holme among open farmland and modest buildings. Someone who knows the village may recognise the familiar transition from fields to cottage gardens. The broad meadow leaves the cottage in view without crowding it, while the tree gives the scene a clear point of orientation.
