Description
Hebden in North Yorkshire sits among the green fields of Wharfedale, where stone walls, wooded slopes and a distant church tower reveal the settled countryside of the Yorkshire Dales.
The Wharfedale village of Hebden lies close to Grassington in the Yorkshire Dales. Lead mining became important in its surrounding moors, and a suspension bridge crosses the Wharfe nearby, linking this North Yorkshire settlement with walking routes through the valley.
A rough stone wall descends across the near slope above scattered grey boulders. Beyond the trees, green and yellow fields step towards a small settlement with a square church tower. Darker woodland occupies the opposing hillside, and long upland ridges frame the valley. Fully leafed trees suggest summer, while bright daylight separates the sunlit pasture from the cooler distant slopes.
