Description
Grizedale in Cumbria rolls through dark conifers and gold leafy woodland, with a pale winding forest track below purple distant fells and orange clouds in the low sunshine of an autumn evening.
This forest near Hawkshead occupies hilly ground in the Lake District. Its network of trails supports walking and mountain biking through the woodland. Forest routes rise towards open viewpoints, linking enclosed wooded slopes with the wider mountain landscape that surrounds the southern lakes.
Grizedale has dark pointed conifers spread across rolling hills among gold broadleaf crowns. A pale track winds through an open rocky clearing near the centre, with successive forest belts beyond. Purple fell silhouettes catch pink light along their upper slopes. Rust near ferns and orange clouds suggest low evening sunshine during autumn across the wide wooded basin.
