Description
Great Glen Canoe Trail passes through a sequence of canal locks beneath Highland peaks, with the evening light settling over the water and wooded slopes.
The lock basin fills the foreground, crossed by narrow walkways and dark gates. Houses sit among trees at either side, while a strip of loch water appears beyond the canal. Mountain ridges rise in layers behind it, their upper slopes catching the warm light beneath a pink and gold sky.
Great Glen Canoe Trail links waterways across the Highlands, and this view shows how the canal works sit among the lochs and steep ground. The locks lead towards open water, with the mountain line holding the far side of the scene above the wooded banks.
