Description
Glyderau combines a craggy Welsh peak with an old stone chimney above a mountain lake, setting industrial remnants against the steep, open ground of Snowdonia.
A roofless masonry shell stands beside the tall circular stack, its arched openings facing a blue lake below. Heather and scattered boulders border the foreground path, while pale rock bands run down the slopes towards a darker stand of trees. Broken clouds soften the upper ridges.
Glyderau has a particular pull for walkers who notice how mining traces remain within the mountains. This view keeps the ruin near the water and the high ground beyond, recalling the changing scale of a route through Cwm Idwal and its neighbouring valleys. It suits a walker who remembers reaching the water after a rocky descent.
