Orsola Maddalena Caccia, an Italian nun and painter, produced this still life during the seventeenth century. The composition displays a collection of fruit and flowers arranged upon a stone ledge against a dark, neutral background. Caccia was the daughter of the painter Guglielmo Caccia and spent her life within the convent of Moncalvo. Her work often features botanical subjects, reflecting the monastic interest in nature and the cultivation of gardens.
