Description
Eglwyseg offers a bold meeting with the limestone country of north Wales, appealing to those who enjoy the clear contrast between exposed heights and the sheltered farming valleys below.
A pale cliff runs across the upper right in separate vertical buttresses. Broad grey scree fans descend between green strips of grass. Small trees stand apart on the open slope, with dense woodland filling the hollow and reddish rounded hills across the distant left.
The escarpment gives Eglwyseg an unmistakable scale within its rural surroundings. For an interest in hill walking or the forms of limestone, the view offers plenty to follow, from the breaks in the rock face to the scattered trees that help reveal the steepness of the ground beneath it.
