Description
Dyfi Forest frames a stone dam across blue water, with dark conifers rising from the valley and warm hills extending beyond the reservoir shore.
Tall rectangular towers cap the arched parapet, each topped with a green roof. Pale reflections run along the lake towards a narrow inlet, while tiered evergreen slopes close around it. Ochre grass and scattered rocks edge the viewpoint in the foreground. Behind it, rounded hills carry soft bands of muted purple and gold.
Visitors to Dyfi Forest will recognise how water changes the scale of the woods, opening a long corridor between the slopes. For residents of Powys, the image holds a familiar meeting of masonry, tree cover and the broad upland horizon.
