Description
Creigiau Eglwyseg rises in pale limestone above the Dee Valley, where a hilltop stone ruin gives the Denbighshire valley view a striking, elevated focus.
Broken crags fill the slope below the summit, their pale faces split by grass shelves and darker creases. Above them, two squared towers frame an arched opening against a wide blue sky. Far beneath, the valley opens into hedged fields and rounded hills, with a narrow river catching light as it bends away from the ridge.
Anyone who has climbed near Creigiau Eglwyseg may recognise the sudden breadth of the view after the steep ground. For people from Denbighshire, the ridge links the close texture of limestone underfoot with the long run of the valley below.
