Description
Coldrum Stones sets weathered ancient monoliths against a glowing evening sky, with heather, rough grass and distant Kentish fields spread widely beneath the ridge.
The largest upright stone fills the foreground, its dark face mottled with pale lichen and edged in amber light. Smaller monoliths step away across the rise, separated by tufts of grass, low heather and scattered slabs. Beyond them, fields form quiet blocks of colour beneath a broad, flat-topped hill. Peach and mauve clouds gather over the far horizon.
At Coldrum Stones, the placement of each stone gives a visitor a reason to slow down and look outward. This view holds the contrast between the close, worn surfaces of the monument and the open Kentish countryside beyond the ridge.
