Description
Cloughton Wyke on the North Yorkshire coast catches the sunrise above layered cliffs, with gold light across the sea and grassy headlands leading towards a distant castle skyline.
North of Scarborough, this coastal indentation lies below the clifftop walking route near Cloughton Newlands. Looking south along the shore gives a distant view of Scarborough Castle, with a sequence of projecting headlands marking the coast between the bay and the town.
At Cloughton Wyke, a low sun spreads orange light across the sea on the left. Dark horizontal rock layers run below green fields and the receding clifftops, with a small castle silhouette near the far horizon. Golden grasses and leafy bushes edge the foreground. Pink clouds above the water suggest a quiet sunrise around the turning of summer into autumn.
