Description
The Cleveland Hills rise beyond purple heather, with wooded slopes descending towards an open valley and a weathered boundary stone standing among loose rocks in the foreground.
From Burton Howe on Ingleby Moor, the view looks west towards the Cleveland Hills. Broad upland ridges rise above wooded slopes, while lower ground opens to the right, where fields recede towards a hazy horizon.
A lichen-covered boundary stone stands on the near slope, its rough yellow-green face catching the light above a cairn of angular rocks. Heather spreads in muted purple bands across the moor, broken by pale grass. Dark conifers cover the hillside below the ridge, with softer ochre woodland along their edges. Cream clouds form long, uneven rows across the blue sky.
