Description
Castle Stalker / Portnacroish centres a sunlit tower on a small tidal islet, with dark water, seaweed-covered rocks and blue Highland ridges lending the scene a still, luminous calm.
A broad crenellated roofline, narrow windows and two pointed corner turrets give the stone building a crisp silhouette against billowing cream clouds. Gold light catches its right-hand wall and falls in broken reflection across the loch, while boulders at the near shore sit among bands of ochre weed.
Castle Stalker / Portnacroish is defined here by the meeting of historic masonry and open water rather than by a distant panorama alone. It will speak to anyone who has approached this stretch of Argyll shoreline and watched the castle hold its ground above the tide, framed by the changing hills behind it.
