Description
Camas an Leim in the western Highlands frames turquoise water with rough shore rocks, where two dark outcrops stand beneath a snowy mountain and a wide scatter of white clouds.
On the eastern side of the Shieldaig headland, this small bay opens towards Upper Loch Torridon. Exposed Lewisian gneiss forms part of its rocky coastal edge. The sheltered indentation belongs to the intricate Wester Ross shoreline, where low headlands face the larger mountains across the loch.
The view at Camas an Leim begins among large lichen flecked boulders and rust red shrubs. Two pointed rocks emerge from the blue water beyond, with a low wooded cliff on the left. Across the loch, a broad mountain retains a white cap and scattered snow streaks. The warm lower slopes beneath the snowy heights suggest a bright spring day by the water.
